Welcome to Fairyland School!
People always ask me, “What is it like at Fairyland School?” I tell them that it is the ‘jewel” of Lookout Mountain and one of the best schools in the State of Georgia! I also tell people that in a safe, nurturing environment, Fairyland builds upon the foundation of the Georgia Standards of Excellence – going beyond what is required by the state, to exceed expectations of the families who trust their children to our care. I also tell them that we challenge our students to attain core knowledge and build strong character, in order to achieve their highest potential. It is this belief system that has established and created academic excellence at Fairyland School since 1931.
Fairyland Elementary is a high-performing school located on Lookout Mountain. The school serves students in grades Pre K through 5 and has a strong tradition of academic excellence. Fairyland Elementary School has been recognized for being 1 of 51 schools in Georgia to receive awards for both Highest Performing and Greatest Gains in 2016. In the Highest Performing category (130 schools recognized) Fairyland received a *Silver Award; in the Greatest Gains category (139 schools recognized) the school received a Platinum Award! These awards are based on the last three years average combined. Fairyland Elementary was also designated as an “A” school (CCRPI 90.0 or higher) by the Governor’s Office.
A high percentage of students who attend Fairyland go on to private schools in the Chattanooga area. Strong parental support and fierce loyalty to the school gives it an esteemed position in the community. One of the strengths of the school is the level of parental involvement and support. The PTO is strong and boasts high attendance at all school functions. Organized fund raising efforts result in PTO funding of crucial staffing positions and programs above the system offerings.
If you are interested in learning more about the school, I’d invite you to schedule a school tour! We love having visitors and look forward to meeting you!
